Commerce Graduate, with a degree in Law and a Fellow member (FCS) of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.

  • > Contributed leadership to the team entrusted with the responsibility of disinvesting surplus land of Central Government Corporation and realized/gained over Indian Rupees 3500 Crores to exchequer;
  • > challenged in the courts successfully, PIL filed by BEAG in the matter of thought-provoking Development Control Regulation no. 58, & additional property related litigations;
  • > As an Estate Officer - as qausi-judicial authority functioning under the Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorized Occupants) Act, 1971, decided several cases and the Appellate Authority (City Civil Court/District Courts) & the High Court upheld all of those cases in appeal favorably;
  • Demonstrated Leadership while managing and controlling the most adverse and do or die situation before the furious “Morcha” of over 1500 unauthorized occupants on NTC Mills’ land in Feb 2005;
  • >  As Company Secretary meticulously managed all functions under SEBI (Substantial Acquisition of Shares and Takeover) Regulation, 1997 while a Foreign Company took over shares and control in the Company overnight;
  • >  Managed Excises and customs law matters and in between 1979 & 1982, won a case against classification of products, which resulted in refund of over Rupees 60 Lakhs then to the Company. In addition, computerized and/or streamlined the Company accounting function, and contributed policy inputs in the areas of Administration / HRD/ IR. Facilitated conclusion of settlements with the Trade Unions.
  • > In 1991-92 in coordination with then Commissioner of Excises & Customs at Bombay, represented to the Ministry of Finance as to how then MODVAT procedure was disparaging clearance of indigenous goods to Exporters located in Free Trade Zones & Export Processing Zones. Ensured a follow-up with the Collectorate/ Ministry of Finance and got amended the MODVAT Rules under the Central Excises & Salt Act, 1944. This amendment facilitated free of duty clearance of indigenous goods to Exporters located in Free Trade Zones & Export Processing Zones, which resulted in savings of lakhs of Rupees duties to my Employer and Trade in general all over India.
